Valerie J. Elster

Valerie J. Elster, 62, of Medina entered into rest at her home with her family by her side on Sat., Oct. 23, 2021.

Born March 8, 1959 in Medina, she was a daughter of the late William G. Elster, Sr. and Shirley M. (Bellamy) Elster. Valerie worked for Jamestown Containers for many years. She was also the owner of Leonard Wood N-Crafts in Medina. She enjoyed baking, especially cookies which she loved to give to others. Valerie enjoyed her time coaching little league in Lyndonville for three years. She loved music and also doing arts and crafts. Valerie always supported the underdog.

Survivors include her beloved daughter, Dina (Justin) Narburgh of Medina; grandchildren: Madison and Austin Narburgh of Albion; sisters: Suzy (Tim) Cutshall of KS and Kim (Eric) Brown of Medina; brothers-in-law: Max Medrano of Albion and Donald Much of Medina; aunt, Laurel Himler of Rochester; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Robert Coon and Iris Parlier.

In addition to her parents, Valerie was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Medrano in 2019; brother, William G. Elster, Jr. in 2020; and four nieces and nephews: Elizabeth and William Shingleton, Amanda Bloom and Donald Banks, Jr.

Valerie’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to her loving caregivers: Dorothy, Terry, Robin, Becky, and also those from Hospice.

Calling hours will be held on Thu., Oct. 28 from 4-7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her memorial service will be held on Fri., Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Thurber officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
