Timothy A. McGee
ALBION – Timothy A. McGee, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving wife Myrna and sister Joan by his side on June 20, 2023. He was born March 31, 1946 in Lockport, NY a son of the late Ruben and Genevieve (Wick) McGee.
Tim served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired from the Reserves as a Tech Sergeant. He was a Sergeant for the Warner Robins Police Department in Georgia for many years before he returned to the area. He then worked for 20 years as a Corrections Officer at Orleans Correctional Facility before his retirement.
Tim was always very active in his community, giving back as much as he could with his time and fundraising. He was the past District Deputy Grand Master of the Free & Accepted Masons of New York and an active member of the Renovation Lodge #97 F&AM of Albion, NY. He was an active member of the Sheret Post #35 American Legion of Albion, NY, Disabled Veterans of America, lifetime member of the VFW, and very influential member of the Albion First Presbyterian Church. Tim was a social butterfly and when he wasn’t selling tickets to a local fundraiser, he enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Tim loved his family immensely and was so proud of all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by his sister Marilyn Bermas and grandson, Chase McGee.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Myrna, children, Jeffrey McGee, Neil (Jeanette) Martin Sr., and Maggie Martin; grandchildren, Martin (Joan) Grater, Mitchel (Jessica) Grater, Scottie Bowers, Taylor Bowers, Neil Martin Jr., McKenlynn Stowell and Connor Martin; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lucas and Joycelynn; sister, Joan Holdforth; brother, William (Joanne) Carpenter; brother-in-law, Don Bermas as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tim’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave. Albion, NY 14411 on Monday, June 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held at the Albion First Presbyterian Church 29 State St. Albion, NY 14411 on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held at Mt. Albion Cemetery.
