Thomas W. McGee

ELMIRA/FORKSVILLE- Thomas W. McGee, 61, of Forksville, died Saturday, July 15, 2023, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence, Williamsport.

Born January 26, 1962, in Elmira, NY, he was a son of the late William McGee and Audrey (Dieffenbach) Eberhardt of Forksville. Tom was a 1980 graduate of Holley High School and received an associate degree from Genessee Community College in 1982, and also attended SUNY Albany.  He attended Millview Wesleyan Church with his mother regularly.  Tom enjoyed writing and had articles published in newspapers and journals, including the International Library of Poetry.  He received the official 2006 Commemorative US Poetry Ambassador Medal.  Tom enjoyed the outdoors including gardening, fishing, hunting, and camping.  He was a member of White Ash Land Association for many years, the F & AM, Lodge in Kendell, Ny., and the Sons of the American Legion, Holley, Ny.

Surviving in addition to his mother Audrey and his step-father Charles Eberhardt of Holley, Ny., are two sons, Shane McGee of Rochester, Ny., and Shawn McGee of Pueblo, Co.; a granddaughter Millie McGee; 2 sisters Kathy Sandow of Lopez, and Donna McGee (Diane Crewe) of Albion, Ny.; two brothers Michael (Erika) McGee of Albion, Ny., and Chuck (Vanessa) Eberhardt of Bergen, Ny.

In addition to his father William McGee, he was preceded in death by a brother John McGee.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Millview Wesleyan Church, 6575 Rt. 87 Forksville, PA with Pastor Edward Ross officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Forksville.  Friends may call from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Thomas’s name to American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org or to the Gatehouse Hospice, C/O, Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA, 17701.
