Theresa M. Reis

Theresa M. Reis, of Kendall died peacefully in her home on June 26, 2022.  She was born to the late Julian and Maude (Wescott) Townsend in Morton, NY on March 8, 1925.

Theresa graduated from Kendall School District and worked for a time with the Morton Canning company. As a mother of 8 children, she was an avid homemaker. Theresa liked to sew and crochet, crafting special baby blankets for each of the children that joined her large family. She also made skirts for all of the members of Kendall’s color guard while her husband, Robert Sr., instructed the guard. Theresa was involved with the National Turtle Organization, participating in annual camping trips and turtle races with other people from around the world. She liked to spend her free time reading Amish stories, doing puzzles, and supporting her teams, the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills.  She was a member of the Morton Ladies’ Auxiliary and Hamlin VFW and was revered for her beef BBQ at the Morton Carnival.

Theresa is predeceased by her husband, Robert Reis Sr.; son, Ronald Paul, as well as several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Susan) Reis Jr., Ralph Reis, Patricia Reis, Peggy (Anthony) Scally, Pamela Sevor, Penni-Jo Reis, Paula (Joe) Heberle; 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sun., July 3 from 1-3 pm at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home in Holley, NY.  Theresa’s funeral service is to follow calling hours at 3 pm.  Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Lakeside Cemetery.
