Shirley Ann (Miller) Snowdon

Shirley Ann (Miller) Snowdon, 90, was born May 8, 1931 in Albion, NY and resided in Venice, Fla. Shirley passed away peacefully Oct. 20, 2021; in her home with family at her side.

Shirley thought of herself as a simple farm girl of modest means. Known by many loved ones as “MacGyver”, she enjoyed fixing things, loved gardening, cruising, casinos and her bingo. She was a hostess/assistant manager for a high end restaurant until her retirement in 1985.

Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Helen Miller; husband, William W.C. Snowdon; step-son, Michael Snowdon; and grandson, Jonathan D. Shidler.

She is survived by son, Eugene (Karen) Alcorn, IV, Venice, Fla.; daughters: Deborah (Richard) Cook, Waterport, NY; Susan (Dean) Shidler, Venice, Fla., Janet (Chris) Tyson, Punta Gorda, Fla.; sister, Eleanor Lockwood, Batavia, NY; brothers: Ralph (Joyce) Miller, Newark, Fla. and Robert Miller, Lakeland, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-granchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held at a later date in New York.
