Sandra A. Soos

Sandra A. Soos, 78, of Middleport, died on June 29, 2019, under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Sandy was born June 16, 1941 in Buffalo to Joseph and Dorothy (Letke) Schieberl and lived in this area for over 40 years.

She graduated from Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart and married her husband, Edward, on Nov. 24, 1960. Sandy was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish – St. Stephen’s Church, and she worked for over 30 years in the Royalton-Hartland Central School District, retiring in 2007. She loved her job at the school and enjoyed interacting with the students and faculty. It was commonplace to hear students say, “I just love that Mrs. Soos!”

Sandy was an avid sports fan. In particular, she was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Sabres. She also enjoyed dancing, gardening, reading, going out to dinner, traveling, and, especially, spending time with her family and being in and around the company of other people.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Edward G. Soos; her children, Tracy (George) Clayton of Pennsylvania, Susan (Russell) Scrufari of Lockport, and Edward (Susan) Soos of Gasport; her grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Walker, John (Samantha) Walker, Carrie Ann Scrufari, Jenny Lynn Scrufari, Sandra (Anthony) Clark and Katilyn Scrufari; her great-grandchildren, Lincoln Bregy, Anthony “TJ” Clark and Luke Scott Walker; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Molly.

The family will receive friends at Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, on Wed., July 3 from 10 to 11 a.m. only. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wed., July 3 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish – St. Stephen’s Church, Middleport. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
