Rowland Jacobs

Rowland H. Jacobs, 84, of Middleport, passed away on Dec. 16, 2018 at Niagara Hospice House. He was born Dec. 14, 1934 in Lockport to the late Norman and Alice (Kohler) Jacobs.

Rowland and his late wife, Audrey, enjoyed traveling together and spending the winters in Lakeland, Fla. for many years. Rowland worked for Frontier Stone before working for General Motors. He was an exempt member of the Terry’s Corners Fire Department since 1991, and he was also Past Chief. He was also one of the founding members of the Niagara County Fire Police.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Audrey, in 2012.

Rowland is survived by his sons, James (Mary Ellen) Jacobs of Middleport, Jeff (Darcy) Jacobs of Wilson, and Gerald “Jake” (Roxanne) Jacobs of Middleport; grandchildren, Christopher, Brianna, Ciara and Andrew Jacobs; as well as great-grandsons, Logan and Levi.

The family will receive friends on Sun., Dec. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport NY 14105, where his memorial service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m.
