Ronald W. Stevenson Sr.

American flagRonald W. Stevenson Sr. of Newfane, NY entered into rest on Sun., March 7, 2021 after a short stay at Elderwood of Lockport. He was born on Oct. 18, 1930, the son of Roy and Ina Stevenson. 

Ronald graduated from Lockport High School in 1949, worked for a short time at Dussault Foundry Corporation, and enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1950-1953. Upon returning home he started a family, and was hired by Harrison’s Radiator, where he worked for 41 years until retiring as a Model Maker in Skilled Trades. Ronald married his beloved wife, Sharon Stevenson on Oct. 25, 1985. He enjoyed the outdoors, airplanes, woodworking, being on the road, and anything with wheels. He was a member of the Elks Club,  American Legion Post 410, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2535, and the Lockport Navy Marine Club.

He is predeceased by his wife, Sharon Stevenson and survived by his children: Pam Smith of Rocky Mount, NC, David Soulvie of Newfane, NY, Alan (Lynette) Soulvie of Wilson, NY; and his sister Elynor (Don) McIntosh of Erie, PA. He is also survived by grandchildren: Janet (Stratis) Katsiris, Scott (Lauren) Smith, Stacy, Regina, David Jr., and Lina Soulvie, Karen Long and Christi (Gregory) Horanburg; niece, Heather McIntosh; and nephew, Shawn McIntosh; several great-grandchildren, and friends. A private memorial service will be held for the family.

 Ron’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home in Newfane.
