Ronald PattersonAmerican flagRonald W. Patterson, 78, of Hamlin died Sept. 27, 2020 at his home following a long illness.  He was born June 28, 1942 in Gouverneur, NY, a son of the late Wayne and Myrtle (Barraford) Patterson and had lived in the area for the past 48 years.

Ron had served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves.  He attended Lakeshore Community Church in Rochester. He worked at Kodak for many years, retiring in 1999.  He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed golf, football, softball, baseball and was a die-hard New York Yankee and New York Giants fan.  He loved camping, hunting and his fishing trips to Crooked Creek.  Ron and his wife Mary loved to travel, some of his favorite places were Hawaii, Alaska and the Bahamas. But most of all, Ron loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Winford and his brother-in-law, Michael Trimm.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; sons: Eric Patterson, Jason Patterson and Chris (Amy Brightly) Patterson; grandchildren: Molly, Caleb and Nicholas Patterson; sisters Darla Trimm, Gail (Daniel) Rice, Trudy (Raymond) Carrington; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Route 31 Holley on Fri., Oct. 9 4-6 p.m. where his Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6 p.m.  Masks are required when entering the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 S.
