Ronald Edwin Kettle

NAPLES – Ronald Edwin Kettle passed away peacefully on Monday Sept 19, 2022 at Avow Hospice of Naples FL.  He was born in Albion, NY on Feb 18, 1938.  He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Earlene, his children, Scott (Sue) Derry, Kim (Paul W.) Smith, Ronald Loverdi and Darla Barnum; seven grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John Sprague Kettle and Martha (Rathbun) Kettle; sisters, Marlene K. Weyand and Geraldine A. Brown; and brother, John Kettle.

Ron graduated from Albion High School in 1956, and went on to Cornell University.  Then Ron became a proud member of the United States Army.  He was employed by the New York Telephone Company, where he was active in The Pioneers.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and playing softball with the Barre Busters. He and his wife Earlene were both charter members of the Golden Retriever Club of WNY and he held office for the WNY Retriever Club as well judging many Dog Shows in and out of the state of NY.

In 1983 he and his wife moved to Batavia, NY where they founded and ran Jackpot Kennels, a boarding and grooming business.  In 2004 they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they enjoyed the Southwest climate and worked in the convention industry.  In 2017 they moved to Naples, Florida to be near their daughter Kim where they made their home at High Point Country Club in Naples.
