Ronald Bert Harrington

Ronald Bert Harrington of Silver Springs, Fla. passed away on April 9, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.  He will continue in our memories and lives as he transitions into the next.

Born in Lockport, NY Jan. 14, 1945.  He was a 1963 graduate of Medina High School, Medina, NY.  Moving to Baldwinsville, NY in 1977, then to Silver Springs, Fla. in 2009.

During his 35-year career in glass manufacturing at Owens-Brockway, Inc., Ron was also a member of the Barre Center Volunteer Fire Dept.  Member and President of the Baldwinsville Lions Club.  In Florida becoming Treasurer of the Silver Springs Homeowners Association amongst his many activities.  Ron shared his grand spirit, laughter and life with everyone he encountered.  His presence will endure, albeit a slightly lighter touch.

His passions as an avid golfer and motorcycle enthusiast are well known.  In his vigor for life, he is best remembered by his family, friends and co-workers for his personality, humor and his character.

Mr. Harrington was predeceased by his parents; father- and mother-in-law; sisters-in-law: Janice Scholes and Dorothy Harrington; brothers-in-law: Roger French and Robert Barney.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly (French) Harrington; children: Travis L of Katy, Texas; Wade A of Greensburg Pa.; Catherine A (Katherine) Rippentrop of  N. Syracuse, NY; grandchildren: Cameron; Abriana: Skylah and Xander Harrington; great-grandson Oliver Harrington; sisters: Kathleen (Robert) Barney and Loretta (Raymond) Lukach; brothers: Elmer and Thomas Harrington; sisters-in-law: Pamela French: Carol (James) Freeman and Mildred (Joseph) Sanfilippo; brothers-in-law: Rodney and Joseph (Mindy) French; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Not big on flowers or flashy demonstrations, if you feel compelled a donation to the American Cancer Society will pay forward the great work and assistance this organization provides so many.

A memorial service is being planned at a later date in New York State.
