Robert R. Boyer

American flagRobert R. Boyer, 88, of Medina, entered into rest on June 8, 2020 following a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 6, 1931 in Lockport, a son of the late Roger and Mabel (Martin) Boyer.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. On June 27, 1953, he married the former Joan Wilson. He was employed as a steel worker for Simonds Saw & Steel in Lockport for 32 years. After retirement, he went back to work for the Medina Central School District as a custodian for 10 years. Mr. Boyer and his wife were longtime active members of First Baptist Church in Medina. He also volunteered for Arc of Orleans and served as an advisor/quartermaster for Boy Scout Troop #32 in Medina. Besides being active with his church and volunteer work, Mr. Boyer also was an avid gardener and hunter.

Mr. Boyer was predeceased by his wife, Joan W. Boyer, on Jan. 5, 2015.

He is survived by his sons, Alan R. (Lisa) Boyer of Greece, N.Y. and Paul S. (Katherine) Boyer Sr. of Lawrenceville, Ga.; grandchildren, Tricia L. Titus of Lancaster, S.C., Robert A. Boyer of Las Vegas, Nev., Paul S. Boyer Jr. and Molly C. Boyer, both of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and great-grandson, Aiden L. Titus of Lancaster, S.C.

Services will be held at a later date to be announced. Interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville.
