Robert J. Bissell

KENDALL – Robert J. Bissell passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the age of 97.

He was predeceased by his brother Charles Bissell, sister Ruth Rayburn and daughter-in-law Connie Bissell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Cora; sons Ronald and Timothy (Emily Dennstedt); daughter Mary (Aaron Ballou); grandchildren James (Ashley), Bryan (Kayla), Chris (Shery), Daniel and Amelia; great-grandchildren Christopher Jr, Matthew, Cayden, Joshua, Bella, Bradley, David, Addison and Elijah.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a Sergeant with Company H, 2nd Battalion, 71st Infantry Regiment, 44th Division. He received the Distinguished Unit Badge, EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

Robert was an electrical engineer at Kodak and Bausch and Lomb, choir director and the church organist for over 50 years at the Kendall United Methodist Church. He collected and repaired clocks, was an avid gardener and still push mowed his lawn at the age of 96.

Family will receive friends on Monday, May 9th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fowler Funeral Home Inc. 340 West Ave., Brockport followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Kendall on Tuesday, May 10th, at 10 a.m.
