Robert Chase, 67, of Middleport, passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 12, 2019 under the care of Niagara Hospice. He was born Feb. 16, 1952 to the late Russell and Antonia (Fidanza) Chase.

Robert was a graduate of Roy-Hart High School in 1970 and served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1975. He was employed by Harrison Radiator/Delphi before retiring in 2006. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and playing poker at the hunting camp. Robert also liked the Buffalo Bills and bonfires, where many a stimulating and intelligent conversation took place (LOL).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Mahnke.

Robert is survived by his brother, Russell (Tammy) Chase Jr.; his lifelong companion, Sandra Balschmiter; children, Audra (Vernon) Jett, Robert (Danielle) Chase Jr., Samuel Chase, Jeffrey (Ashly) Balschmiter, Bridgette (Samuel) Henderson, and Kimberly McCanty; six grandchildren, Mikhayla and Maggie Jett, Emmie Chase, Michael Krawczyk, Hudson and Brynlee Balschmiter; mother-in-law, Thelma Stawicki; brother-in-law, Wayne Mahnke; several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts; a very special “brother and sister-in-law,” Bob and Ann Riggle; and six men with whom Robert had the pleasure of sharing friendships and a hunting cabin for over 34 years, John Newton, Fred “Fritz” Peters, Randy Bittinger, Pete Levick, Mike “Hoss” Reale and James Lepkoske.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
