Rita S. Brace

MEDINA – Rita S. Brace, 65, of Medina, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 28, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Preston and Beverly (Dawley) Stone.

Rita grew up in the Albion/Medina area and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. On July 7, 2010, she married the late Merle Walter Brace. She enjoyed camping with her husband and family.

Rita is survived by her children, John Austin, Fred Austin, Candece Murrillo, Beverly Austin, Charlie Thorne, Pettie Thorne, Ray Austin, Amenda McQueen and Carl McQuenn, and six grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Eugene Olsen, Thomas Olsen, James Stone Sr., Paul and Paula Stone, Preston Stone III, and Sharon Reyes, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, Rita was predeceased by her husband, Merle, and her sister, Ina Kavulich.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date to be announced.
