Ricky C. “Rick” Quackenbush

SHELBY – Ricky C. “Rick” Quackenbush, 69, of Shelby, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, after a brief illness at the Hospice of Orleans, Albion, NY.

He was born on May 16, 1955, in Medina, NY, the son of the late Charles and Margaret (Pritchard) Quackenbush.

Rick graduated from Medina High School in 1974. After being together for 44 years, Rick married the love of his life, Dolores Wolters, on April 9, 2024. He worked various jobs, including painting cars, auto mechanic, Medina Cold Storage, and Birdseye, and finally retired from Associated Brands.

For over half a century, Rick was a pillar of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Company, dedicating 51 years of his life to serving the community. In his leisure time, he found joy in tinkering with small projects in his shop, attending area car shows, and cheering on his favorite football and NASCAR teams.

Rick is survived by his wife, Dolores Wolters, and three sons, Donald (Dana) Quackenbush, Carl (Deanna) Quackenbush, and Jake Quackenbush, all of Medina, NY. His three grandchildren, Logan, Maggie, and Maverick, also surviving are several siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

On Friday, June 14, 2024, from 2-4 PM, we invite you to join us at the Shelby Volunteer Fire Hall, 4695  S. Gravel Rd. Medina, NY 14103,  The Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. Russel Peters officiating. Your presence will be a testament to the impact Rick had on our lives.
