Richard WuesthoffRichard “Rick” Wuesthoff, 71, of Albion, died peacefully at his home on Jan. 26, 2019 with his loving and devoted wife, Ellen, by his side, and after having been cared for by her and Hospice of Orleans. Rick was born on Nov. 12, 1947 in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. to Robert and Elizabeth (Dewalsche) Wuesthoff.

The family eventually moved to Doniphan, Mo., where Rick graduated from Doniphan High School. He then joined the United States Navy, completed his basic training in Memphis, Tenn., and was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. Rick went on to serve in the Naval Reserves in Bainbridge, Md. He took a job working for the United States Department of Defense at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. as an information technology computer specialist, retiring in 2006 and then moving with his wife to Waterport and later Albion. He lived in this area for more than 20 years. Rick enjoyed woodworking, and he created beautiful furniture for their home.

Mr. Wuesthoff was predeceased by his parents; and by his brother, Martin “Marty” (Carol) Wuesthoff.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen (Neilson) Wuesthoff; their children, Cheri (Rob) Lewandowski, Eric (Melissa) Wuesthoff, Marcy (Dan) Nelson and Craig Hartl; brother, Kenneth (Betty) Wuesthoff; sister, Lorraine (Harold) Williamson; several grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation, and a private service of remembrance will be scheduled for a later date at the convenience of the family.
