Richard L. Toussaint

Richard L. Toussaint, 79, of Medina, passed into eternal rest on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Dick was born on Oct. 27, 1939 in Middleport, son of the late Clifford H. and Mary H. (Altman) Toussaint. He graduated from Barker High School, class of 1957. Dick was a machinist by trade and worked for E&M Enterprises in Middleport, Niagara Cutter in North Tonawanda for many years and, finally, for Jasco Tools in Rochester, retiring in 2002. He was a 4-H leader for many years with the Fruit Avenue Bombers 4-H club. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Medina. Dick was also a member of the Orleans County Amateur Radio Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation and was an avid hunter. Dick will be lovingly remembered for always offering his assistance to anyone in need.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marion F. (Grabowski) Toussaint of Medina; a sister, Genevieve (late Robert) Nelson of Lockport; two daughters, Denise A. (Robert L.) Jackson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Shari L. (David) Butrite of Wilmington, N.C.; two grandchildren, Jessica L. Toussaint of Tucson, Ariz. and Zachary D. Butrite of Wilmington; godson, Robert Nelson Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wed., April 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls on Thu., April 25 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Medina. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport.
