Richard J. “Shakey” Majeski Sr. passed away on Jan. 13, 2020 in the loving care of his daughter, Ann, in Indiana.

He was predeceased in death by his mother, Helen M Scott; stepfather, Elmore Scott; and stepbrother, Robert Scott.

He leaves behind a son, Richard J “Rick” (Stacy) Majeski Jr.; daughter, Ann M. (Jeff) Ferguson; sister, Joanne (Robert “Bob”) Bracey; stepbrother, John (Diane) Scott; grandsons, Zachery, Davon, Geordi-Lee and Samuel; and his former wife, Margie Shelfer.

He grew up in Shelby, graduated in 1962 from Medina High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and retired from Harrison Radiator in Lockport, a division of General Motors. He was a proud member of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Department, and he enjoyed bowling and CB radio in his younger years.

Upon his retirement, he fulfilled his dream by moving to Hernando, Fla. He spent most of his time doing crossword puzzles and watching game shows on TV; and, while he visited Niko’s Pub, he enjoyed the NASCAR races.

To follow out his wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes will be taken back to Florida to rest in peace near his mother and father in Bushnell National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Veteran’s Suicide Prevention Organization in his honor. Thank you!
