Richard IngrahamAmerican flagRichard H. “Dick” Ingraham, 79, of Middleport, died July 3, 2020 at his residence following a brief illness. Dick was born Sept. 23, 1940 in Middleport, a son of Russell and Ruth (Turrell) Ingraham, and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Dick was a United States Navy veteran, having served on a submarine during the mid-1960s, and he was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Middleport Fire Department for over 30 years and a member of the UAW Local #686. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling. Above all, Dick enjoyed being around his family and friends and got along with everyone.

Mr. Ingraham was predeceased by his daughter, Tracy Jones; and his siblings, Terry Ingraham, Dorothy Webber, Edith Gilbert and Marie Lozaw.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol; daughter, Michelle (Jeffrey) Kinney of Lockport; son-in-law, Jessie Jones of Tennessee; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristen) Ingraham, Colton Kinney, Devon (Jeremy) Decker, Rowdy Jones, Seth Jones and Noah Jones; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Madelyn and Gemma; as well as several nieces and nephews, including Cindy Cornelius, who was a very special caregiver.

The family will receive friends at Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, on Wed., July 8 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. With restrictions on social gatherings still in place, you will be required to wear a face mask to enter the funeral home, and social distancing guidelines will be in place.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
