Rebecca Kenyon Elsmore
Rebecca Kenyon Elsmore of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Barker, passed into eternal life at her home with her children at her bedside.
Born March 22, 1958, she was the daughter of Roger (late) and Marilyn Cook Kenyon. Rebecca attended and graduated from Barker Central School and GCC obtaining her R.N. degree. She worked in Medina Memorial and Strong Memorial Hospitals.
In 2001, Rebecca and her daughter, Rachel, moved to Tucson, AZ. She continued her nursing career – working in area hospitals, attending continuing education programs in all phases or medical departments earning many certifications in the field. She had to retire in 2019 due to declining health. Rachel became her constant caregiver.
Always concerned and caring for the less fortunate, Rebecca and Rachel were known for their giving and selfless ways. They set up a program for school age children, giving out backpacks and school supplies. They made hot and cold meals, hot and cold beverages and gave socks, hats and gloves, blankets and personal items to the homeless, seeking them out on the street corners and meridians. Those asking for money outside restaurants were brought a take-out meal.
Rebecca is survived by her mother, Marilyn Kenyon; her son Timothy, his children Leah, Grace, Grand, and Garrett all of Lyndonville; her daughter, Rachel of Tucson; her siblings Elizabeth “Beth” Waas of Middleport; brother Steven Kenyon of Barer; Nephew “Tony” Kenyon of the U.K.; nieces Theresa (Bo) Gobeli, their daughter Emma (James) Fuller and son Neil of Texas; Steven Gobeli of Medina; Jessica (Daniel) Sutch and daughters Abigail and Zoe of Middleport; Aunts, Phyllis Allport of Medina and Janice (David) Wells of Lyndonville; several cousins and special friends, Patty Olinger of Lyndonville, Janet Foster of Barker and Lorrie Knight of Clarence.
