Raymond G. Emerson

HOLLEY – Raymond G. Emerson, 67, passed away February 10, 2023 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Center after a period of declining health. He was born February 22, 1955 in Rochester, a son of the late Gerald and Clarice (Burbidge) and had lived in this area all of his life.

Ray worked for many years at the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, retiring as Chief Deputy. After his retirement, he worked at Doan Dealership in Rochester and then at Advanced Auto, delivering parts to many businesses. He was a lifetime member of the Holley Fire Department, was an avid Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Gemerek.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susan; his sons, Robert (Aleena) Emerson and Steven Emerson; grandchildren, Cameron and Lindsay; his siblings, Harrison (Nancy) Emerson, William (Barbara) Emerson, Lynda Emerson and David Emerson; brother-in-law, James (Lorri) Vagg and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 16650 State Route 31 Holley on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. where his funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
