Percy Baney

Percy Wilson Baney, 79, of Monterey, Tenn., passed away March 15, 2019 at home, with family by his side.

He was born March 16, 1939 in Sunbury, Pa., son of the late Paul E. Baney and Jennie E. (Loss) Baney. He worked many years at Avon Injected Rubber & Plastics in Albion, and at Lamont’s Fruit Farm. He loved to be outdoors hunting, or sitting on the porch feeding the squirrels and birds while drinking instant Maxwell House coffee, and he enjoyed rooting for his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Whiting) Baney; his four children, Tammy (Paul) Ward of St. Cloud, Fla., Marguerite (James) Davies II of Medina, Tanya (Warren) Bradtmuller of Bristol, Vt., and William (Angie) Baney of Monterey, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Audrey, Lea, Cody, Shane, Layla and Justin; brothers and sisters, Grant Baney, Bruce Baney, Ruth Knight and Mildred Thom; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Wayne Whiting, Karen Mrzywka, Suzanne Neal and Valerie Daniels; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a beloved companion, his cat, “Boots.”

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Myrtle Smith, Mary Swiercznski, Christabelle Loss, Emma Baney, Dorothy Keister, John Baney and Raymond Baney; brother-in-law, Roger Whiting; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Stringer.

As per Percy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A celebration of Percy’s life will take place in July.
