Myron F. Blood

Myron BloodMyron F. Blood, 86, of Newfane, passed away on Dec. 11, 2019 at the Niagara Hospice House after a short illness. He was born Sept. 2, 1933 in Batavia to the late Floyd and Leora Blood and lived in the Newfane area most of his life.

Myron enjoyed riding his motorcycle, dancing and camping. He was a member of St. Brendan on the Lake. He owned and operated Five B’s Restaurant and ice cream trucks in Newfane in the early 1970s. Myron also drove trucks for Goods Transportation in Lockport, retiring in March of 1993.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jessie (Annalora) Blood, whom he married in 1954; his daughter, Maureen; sons, Kim and Wade; and several siblings.

Myron is survived by his daughter, Carla (Randy) Nellist; daughters-in-law, Pamela Blood and Judy Gray; grandchildren, Joshua (Dr. Anat Kohn) Nellist, Andy Kim Blood, Sarah (Brian) Quackenbush, Kimberly (Derek) Ortiz, Michael J. Blood and Adam R. Nellist; seven great-grandchildren; special loving friend, Lois Baker; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tue., Dec. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Ave., Newfane NY 14108, where his funeral service will be held immediately following at 6 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Cold Springs Cemetery.
