Melvin G. Ranney

MIDDLEPORT – Melvin G. Ranney, age 91, died June 5, 2025 in Medina Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born January 17, 1934 in Alden to Bert and Dorothy (Nerber) Ranney and was a life-long resident of this area.

Melvin was a 45-year employee of Allie Brandt Bowling Lanes and worked part time at various other jobs. He was a person who enjoyed working with his hands and building things.

Mr. Ranney was predeceased by brothers: Aubrey, Carlton, Robert, Delmer and Donald.

He is survived by his two sons, Timothy Ranney and Terry (Ashley Natti) Ranney, both of CA; 2 grandchildren, Chase and Cole; 2 brothers, Paul Ranney of Lockport, and David (Joanne) Ranney of Akron; as well as several nieces and nephews and his best friend, Kevin Ramsey.

The family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street-Gasport, on Wednesday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where his funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. immediately following visitation.
