Maxine H. Parada
Maxine H. Parada, passed away unexpectedly on Sun., March 14, 2021 at the age of 77.
Born in Batavia on Aug. 5, 1943, Maxine was the daughter of the late Max and Helen (Zaremski) Tomski. She graduated from Batavia High School in the class of 1961. On May 2, 1964 she married Bernard A. Parada and together raised a family of three children. Maxine worked as a teacher’s aide, first for Niagara Orleans BOCES and then for the Medina Central School District, where she eventually retired from after many years. She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina where she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Mother’s Club. Upon Sacred Heart’s closing, she became a parishioner of Holy Trinity R.C. Parish, St. Mary’s Church. Maxine was a TWIG volunteer at Medina Memorial Hospital and also was a member of the Sacred Heart Club. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and visiting her granddog, Lilo.
Maxine loved to keep connected with family and friends. Whether it was a daily phone call or remembering to send a card for every holiday, Maxine had a special way of letting those around her know that she loved them. Never one to sit idle, Maxine enjoyed being out and about. She cherished her daily outings and dinners with her loving companion, George, who will miss her dearly.
Besides her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Parada in 1995 and brother, Paul Tomski in 2013.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Deborah (David) Feltz, Darrin (Julie) Parada and Melanie (Christopher) Napoleon; her companion, George Tomaselli; grandchildren: Madeline and Aaron Feltz, Rebecca and Megan Parada, Roman, Gustave and Angelina Napoleon; brothers: Dennis (Margaret) Tomski and Lucien (Maureen) Tomski; sisters-in-law: Mary Jane Szczechowiak and Donna Tomski; brother in-law, Anthony Parada; several nieces and nephews; and dear cousin, Linda (Jim) Nalbauch.
Calling hours will be held on Fri., March 19 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat., March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
