Mary Ann Stogsdill (Greean)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Stogsdill, on December 10th, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Mary passed away at the home she cherished with Robbie, her late husband. Mary left peacefully surrounded by her family and pets, as she had wanted. Throughout her illness, she displayed incredible strength, resilience, and grace, inspiring all who knew her.
Born on March 31st, 1957, in Buffalo NY, to Ronald and Shirley Zabawa (pre-deceased). Mary dedicated her life to helping others and creating a loving environment for her family and friends. She worked tirelessly with adults with mental disabilities, offering her patience, compassion, and understanding to make their lives better. Her remarkable ability to care deeply for others extended far beyond her work.
Mary was married to Robbie Lee Stogsdill until his passing in 2014. Mary is survived by her 12 children and 21 grandchildren: Jennifer Thrower (Glenn, children Kayla and Glenn), David Greean (Marilea, children Nikolas and Miranda), Carrie Greean (Todd, children Madison and Brandon), Melissa Greean (Brian, children Nicole, Kayla, Gavin), Sara Jones (Ron, child Abigail), Paul Greean (Jennifer, children Olivia and Mia), Shirley Potts, Jason Greean (Jessica, children Gabriella and Ethan). Kelly Greean (child Keira), Spencer Greean (Carey, children Ryker, Caydence, Lilliana, Carter, Aurora), Joshua Greean, and Taylor Greean (Emily, child Connor).
Mary found her greatest joy in her family and was especially devoted to her grandchildren, whom she adored more than anything. Her face would light up at the mention of their names, and she loved spending time creating precious memories with them. Her love extended to her pets, who were also a cherished part of her life.
Calling hours for Mary will be held on Tuesday December 17th from 5pm-8pm, at Fowler Funeral Home, located at 340 West Ave, Brockport, NY 14420. A graveside service for the family will take place Wednesday morning at Hillside Cemetery in Holley, NY, where we will honor her remarkable life and the impact that she had on all of us.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the remarkable people at Hospice of Orleans in her memory. We find comfort in knowing that Mary, Mom and Nana to so many, is now at peace, surrounded by love, and reunited with those who went before her. She will forever be missed but never forgotten.
