Mary A. Riley

LYNDONVILLE – Mary A. Riley, 66, of Lyndonville, NY, passed away on July 29, 2025, after living a vibrant life full of love.

She was born to the late Eleanor and Randall Johnson and grew up in Oakfield, NY.

She worked at Orchard Manor Nursing Home for several years and adored working with the residents there. Everyone who met Mary felt the light she brought whenever she walked into a room, and her bright and generous personality left a lasting impression on every life she touched.

She married William Riley on July 4th 1981 and they spent 44 loving years together and knew one another for most of their lives.

She is survived by her husband, William Riley; two daughters, Molly Riley and Nicole (Patrick) Soellner; four grandchildren, Isabella Young, Christian Young, Abigail Soellner and Eliza Young; great-grandchild, Ace Sostre; and three siblings, David (Joyce) Clawson, Mark (Beckie) Johnson and Rose (Mark) Weidner.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Rebecca Riley who passed July 29th of 1985.

Mary lived in Lyndonville and adored taking walks to the creek behind her house and hosting family gatherings that always proved to be memorable. She adored nature, gardening, watching the birds from her window, Christmas lights, baking, sunrises and sunsets, and spending time with her dog, Cooper.

She always made sure everyone who walked into her home felt welcome. She loved to go on adventures with her family to experience new things. She always put her family first and loved us all unconditionally. Even in her worst times she was kind and caring to everyone she encountered, and she strived to embrace the positive things in life. Mary Riley was a beautiful soul who will be eternally missed, but will live on in our hearts and memories.
