Martha R. Adkins

Martha R. Adkins, 67, of Medina, entered into rest on Sat., Feb. 2, 2019 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Medina, after a long illness. She was born on Aug. 25, 1951 in Albion, a daughter of Irene (Goodwin) Smith and the late Richard Smith.

Martha met and married Jerry Adkins Sr. while working at Karaz Farms in Elba. Throughout her life, she worked various jobs, which included being a bartender at Shay’s, working at Associated Brands, and working at a home daycare. Martha was past member of the Shelby Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed playing bingo, camping, knitting and sewing. Martha also loved spending time with her family and numerous grandchildren.

Besides her mother, Irene, Martha is survived by her husband, Jerry Adkins Sr.; eight children, Tammy (Joseph) Gall of Deland, Fla., Veronica (Chuck) Harris of Lockport, Audra Hughes of Cheektowaga, Chuck (Jennifer) Hughes of Medina, Jason (Sarah) Hughes of Albion, David (Kristie) Hughes of Lyndonville, Jerry Adkins Jr. of Medina, and Scott (Renee) Adkins of Medina; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Ann (Lonnie) Froman of Medina, Susan (Ron Roth) Smith of Albion, Dennis (Tammy) Smith of North Carolina, Richard Smith of West Virginia, and James (Sharon) Smith of Albion; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Gary and Peggy William and their daughter, Corina Sword, of Medina.

Besides her father, Martha is predeceased by a sister, Mary O. Smith; and a grandson, Brian McMaster.

Relatives and friends may call on Thu., Feb. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held on Fri., Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery in the spring.
