Marilyn Mae Peters

Marilyn Mae Peters, 87, of Akron died Jan. 17, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family following a short illness.  She was born Jan. 22, 1933 in North Tonawanda to Howard and Marion (Kroop) Miller and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Marilyn was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and a 4-H Leader for the Tonawanda Torpedoes 4-H Club.  By all rights, she would be called a Shepherd as she and her husband raised sheep for most of their lives on the farm.  Marilyn also was a musician and was a well-known, well-respected drummer for many local bands.

Mrs. Peters was predeceased by her sister ,Barbara.  She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Boyd; her sons: Daniel (Betsy) Peters of Texas, Gary (Joleen) Peters of Middleport; her sister, Shirley Appleton; her grandchildren: Gary Jr., Brandon, Adam, Allison; and her great-grandchildren: Chase, Everett and Weston.

There will be no prior calling hours.  A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Royalton Mountain Ridge Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227-1480.  Marilyn’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home of Gasport.
