Marilyn M. “Skip” Mitchell

Marilyn M. “Skip” Mitchell, 93, of Millville entered into rest peacefully at her home on Sun., Nov. 29, 2020.

Born May 18, 1927 in the Town of Somerset, NY, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Vernon and Lucille (Arnold) Bateman. She grew up in the Barker area on the family farm and spent the majority of her life in Millville, where she raised a family of three children. She worked for the S.A. Cook Furniture Co., waitressed at the Apple Grove Inn for many years and also worked at Fisher-Price Toys, where she retired from. Marilyn was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest in Millville. She enjoyed feeding her birds and spending time with family.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Patricia Andrews, Roxanna Andrews and David Higgs; four grandchildren: Rhonda (Brian) Miller, Kevin Murphy, Terra Blount and Ryan Higgs; great-grandchildren: Brittany Murphy, Jeff Hamm, Erin Miller, Sophia and Natalie Blount, Wyatt and Lincoln Higgs, Ann Reinhardt, Corey Jepson and Jenna Beyer; sister Sandra (Lee) Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews. Beside her parents she is predeceased by sister, Arlene (late Van) Powley.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment in Hartland Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
