Marie A. Schicker

HILTON – Marie A. Schicker, 93, died Nov. 21, 2020 in Unity Hospital following a short illness.  She was born Aug. 14, 1927 in Rochester, a daughter of John and Alice (Walton) Walsh and was a lifelong resident of this area.

Marie enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre as she was known as a Euchre Shark.  She also enjoyed fishing, playing BINGO, and loved to go camping.  Marie also had a tremendous love for all animals, but the true love of her life was her family, which she cherished with all her heart.

Mrs. Schicker was predeceased by her husband, Francis Earl Schicker; grandchildren: Jason Johnston, Barbie and Francis Schicker; brothers: Jack, Harold and Dick; and sisters: Betty and Peggy.

She is survived by her children: Rita (Dave) Scanio of Wash., Cathy Thompson of Geneseo, Daniel (Sandy) Schicker of Brockport, Nancy (Doug) Smith of Kendall, Thomas Joseph (Nancy) Schicker of Albion, Ilene (Derwin) Benfer of Mt. Morris, Bernie Schicker of Ken., Jenny Johnston of Albion, Laurie (RJ) Yockel of Hilton, Michael (Charlene) Schicker of Tenn., Christopher (Sonya) Schicker of Holley, Kimberly (Dion) Toal of Holley; 41 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Sherry Walsh; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved kitty, “Baby Kitty” and her bird, “Simon.”

There will be no calling hours.  Marie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family and burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Boys Town, 100 Flanagan Blvd., P.O. Box 5000, Boys Town, NE 68010-9989; or the American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620.
