Margery Cook

Margery Martha “Frenchie” Cook, of Ossipee, N.H. and formerly of Medina, passed away peacefully on Sat., Jan. 5, 2019.

Margery was born on Jan. 13, 1937, the daughter of Anna M. and Howard B. Joseph Sr. She graduated from Medina High School in 1954 and later worked for Delco (Rochester Products), and for Gasport Nursing Home and BOCES as an LPN. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, fishing, antiquing, baking, and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.

She is survived by her children, Pamela E. Wright of Niskayuna, N.Y. and Timothy S. Vanderlaan of Shiloh, N.C.; two grandchildren, Shelby G. Turner and Brenna L. (Kris) Kowalczyk; one great-grandson, Lukas C. Kowalczyk; eight sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Margery was predeceased by her husband, James D. Cook; son-in-law, Arthur Wright; daughter-in-law, Caroline “Sue” Vanderlaan; and brothers, Howard Joseph Jr. and Robert Joseph.

A private service and interment will be held in Medina in the spring.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Orleans County – ARC of Genesee Orleans; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
