Margaret “Peggy” (Ruhlman) Tucker VanNostrand

Peggy was a member of the American Legion Post #35 Ladies Auxiliary, the St. Mary’s Athletic Club, Junior Wilson’s Sportsman Club, and a member and past President of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed Turner Classic Movies, Euchre, as well as singing and dancing with the “Brick Band”, pull tabs and scratch-off tickets. Peggy particularly loved family gatherings and loved her cats.
Mrs. VanNostrand was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald Tucker; her son, Jerry Tucker; son-in-law, James Hecht; her second husband, Gary VanNostrand; her step-daughter, Cherylynn; step-grandson, Jackson; as well as several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Hecht, Carol (Brad) Rouse, Judy (Vic Vaicys) London, Ron Tucker and Marc (Lisa) Tucker; stepson, Jeff (Jeannie) VanNostrand; sister-in-law, Kay VanNostrand; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Peggy’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home 21 West Ave.-Albion, NY 14411 where her funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 6 p.m. Private interment will be held in Mt. Albion Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
