Margaret (Peg) Walck

Margaret (Peg) Walck, 88. of Suffolk, VA, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Margaret was born on December 24, 1935 in Buffalo, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Meindl. She was a graduate of Royalton Hartland High School in Middleport, N.Y. and earned her RN degree at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo. 

Margaret worked as an RN in both New York and in Virginia. She loved being a nurse, but she also loved to volunteer. Over the years she volunteered for her church, Oasis Social Ministry, the Chesapeake Health Department, Cub Scouts, 4H, after school programs, hospice, and the Red Cross. She also loved animals, especially her rescue dog and cat, Skipper and Saba. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband, Delbert, her daughter, Catherine, and her brother, John. She is survived by her children, Joanne Heye (Dale Nelson) of Spokane, WA; Kenneth Heye of Medina, NY; Annette Allis (Roger) of Medina, N.Y; Marcia Walck of Norfolk, VA; Lisa Rein (Doug) of Reisterstown, MD; and Susan Owen (Keith) of Chesapeake, VA. She is survived by ten grandchildren: Alex, Sterling, Hayden, Christine, Jordan, Nicole, Jessica, Amanda, Reese and Cai, and one great granddaughter, Brynlee.  Margaret is also survived by her siblings: Mary, Dotty, Betsy, and George. The family would also like to thank Margaret’s dear friend, Penny Hubble, for all of her love and support.

The family will hold a private memorial service in New York at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Margaret’s memory to a local no kill animal shelter or rescue.
