Margaret Koza
(KENT, NY/IRVING, TX)
Margaret Koza, 91, formerly of Kent, passed away on Feb. 16, 2021 following a long illness. She was a long-time resident of Kent, NY and a recent resident of Northgate Plaza in Irving, Texas. Margaret was born Jan. 21, 1930 in Albion to Otto and Marie (Schrader) Kludt and had lived in NY most of her life. She and her husband Don were farmers and raised several foster children. She drove school bus for the Kendall Central School System and was involved in Orleans County 4-H program. Margaret was an impeccable seamstress, and a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Kendall, NY where she served on the Ladies Aid Society, the Prayer Chain, the Alter Guild and the Women of the ELCA. She made many contributions to her community during her life but did so quietly and without fanfare. Mrs. Koza was predeceased by her husband, Don; a son: David; a daughter, Donna Claiborne; and a brother: Harold Kludt.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Johnson, Michele Lazo, Sharon Allport, Molly (Randall) Hoffpauir, Laura Rice, Deb McNaughton, Doreen Hall, Richard (Angela) VanWyngaarden, John (Cheri) Lowe, Jesse (Paula) Lowe, Mike Lowe and Joanne Roman; her brother, Rudy (Barb) Kludt; sister-in-law, Bev Kludt; as well as many grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and several other foster children.
Margaret’s memorial service will be announced at a future date. The family requests that any Memorial gifts or flowers should be given to: Concordia Lutheran Church, 1769 Kendall Rd., Kendall, NY 14476.
