Mabel Keihl

Mabel Keihl, 93, died peacefully at her home in Middleport on Aug. 18, 2019.

Born on Sept. 19, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Mable (Rouse) Dale and John R. Bougas. As a woman who fully engaged in life, she loved the Buffalo Bills, butterflies, babies and, of course, her family. She thoroughly enjoyed being a wife, a mother, and an active member of her community. Mabel was best known for her homemade pies, her signature peach geraniums, and her playful quick wit.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Keihl, in 2012; daughter, Deborah A. Keihl, in 2015; sister, Norma Jean Bailey; and brothers, John R. and Anthony Bougas.

She is survived by her son, Michael R. (Charlene) Keihl; grandson, Richard A. Keihl Jr.; great-grandchildren, Giovanni M. Keihl, Angelo J. Damico George, Raylee A. Smith, and Taylor C. Smith; and many nieces and nephews, including Patty Jo Sawvel and DJ Mahar, who helped make her dreams come true to live and die in her home. A special thanks to her family of caregivers, including Rose Damico George and Jen Stornelli.

Entombment will take place on Sat., Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. in the Birchwood Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo.

Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, Medina. Please share condolences at www.cooperfuneralhome.com.
