Lynn MillerLynn R. “Cranker” Miller, 73, of Albion, died March 8, 2019 in Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born April 23, 1945 in Albion to Chauncy and Dorothy (Wage) Miller and lived in this area his entire life.

Lynn was a member of Albion First Presbyterian Church and retired from the Village of Albion after over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Dye Hose Company #5, a lifetime member of the Albion Fire Department, a charter member of the Albion Exempts Club and, from 1996 to 1997, served as President of the Western New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association.

Lynn also spent many hours volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and serving as a scoutmaster of Troop #48 of Boy Scouts of America. In addition, he was a recipient of the BSA Silver Beaver Award. He enjoyed fishing at the Outer Banks, woodworking, and hunting in the Adirondacks near the Moose River.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was predeceased by a son, Michael Miller.

He is survived by his children, Connie Nenni of Holley, Robert (Tracy) Miller of Honeoye Falls, and Daniel Miller of Waterport; his grandchildren, Alex, Hayley, Zach, Jessica, Kristen, Gaven and Kayli; his sister, Dorothy (Milton) Boyer of Albion; Carol Miller, mother of Michael and Daniel Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tue., March 12 at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion. Family and friends are invited to attend Lynn’s funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wed., March 13 at Albion First Presbyterian Church, corner of State and Main streets in Albion. Interment will follow in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
