Lula S. Fraser

LYNDONVILLE – Lula S. Fraser, 93, of Lyndonville, NY, rejoined her husband in heaven on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home. She was born on July 10, 1927 in Barker, a daughter of the late Earl and Greta (Decker) Shutt.

Lula graduated from Barker High School in 1944 and continued her education at Brockport State Teachers College, where she received her teaching degree. She married the late Kermit Fraser on November 18, 1950, and together they raised three children in Lyndonville. Lula was a teacher at various local schools and retired from Gasport Elementary School.

She was an active member of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church and was very active with the church after retiring. Lula was also a member of the Eastern Star and Delta Kappa Gamma Society and served on the Lyndonville School Board. Throughout her whole career, she devoted her time and effort volunteering for literacy. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at Hospice of Orleans. Lula was an avid reader and loved the time she spent with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Fraser of Lyndonville, David (Kim) Fraser of North Syracuse and Meredith (David) Pratt of Wells, VT; grandchildren, Tristan, Cade, Cameron and Zachary; great-grandaughters, Lydia and Harper; and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
