Luis E. Lugo

Luis E. Lugo, 85, of Medina passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Mon., April 26, 2021 at the Martin-Linsin Hospice Residence in Albion.

Mr. Lugo was born in San Herman, Puerto Rico on June 28, 1935, a son of the late Josè L. Rivera-Justiniano and Obilia Lugo. He immigrated to the United States in 1954. Mr. Lugo married the former Jessie Louise Stahl on Dec. 9, 1975. He worked for Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 29 years, retiring in 1998. His hobbies included crafting, fishing, gardening and making wine and brandy. He was a collector of many things and his favorite pastime was playing cards (phase 10).

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Jessie Louise Lugo on Oct. 18, 2016.

Survivors include his children: Phil (Cindy) Stahl, Luis (Patricia) Lugo, Lisa (Keith) Rivers, Mike (Frances) Lugo, Dean (Lori) Lugo and Joe Lugo; nineteen grandchildren: Trisha (Dan), Aaron, Alex, Ashley, Christopher, Daniel, Katie, Corey, Cody, Kyle, Jessie, Autumn, Ariel, Brie, Jordan, Jayden, Nicole, Cameron and MacKenzie; nine great-grandchildren: Renee, Chloe, Cadence, DeAndre, Brayden, Brynlee, Bryson, McKinlee and Delaney; sister, Carmen Colon; brother, Josè Rivera; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Mon., May 3 from 4-7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tue., May 4 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity RC Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Entombment will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101.
