Louis P. Scinta

MEDINA – Louis P. Scinta, 85, of Medina, NY, formerly of Lockport, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at his home after a brief illness.

Born on February 7, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Giallambardo) Scinta.

After graduating high school, Louis enlisted in the U.S. Navy and on returning home, he married the former Linda A. Ventura and together they raised three children.

Louis worked in the Maintenance Department of Harrison Radiator, from which he retired in 1991. Later he married the former Rosemary P. Sullivan and raised four more children. After his retirement, they moved to Hickory, North Caroline for 18 years. Upon Rosemary’s passing, Louis moved back to the Medina area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his house, doing yard work and home improvements. He also enjoyed driving, often taking the scenic route across country.

He is survived by six children, Paul Scinta and Lisa Scinta, both of Lockport, NY, Jamie Craft of North Carolina, Gina (John) Fulcher of Lockport, NY, Louis, Jr. (Katy) Scinta of Oregon, Lori (James) Doxey of Middleport. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and three good friends, Suzie, Cheryl and Jim.

Besides his parents and two wives, he is predeceased by a son David Craft and two brothers, Carl and Joseph.

As per his wishes, there are no calling hours and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Western New York National Cemetery in Pembroke, NY.
