Lewis Tombari
LYNDONVILLE – Lewis Tombari, 85, of Lyndonville, NY, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 5, 1939, in Medina, NY, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy G. (Clark) Tombari.
Lewis graduated from Lyndonville Central School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, he raised his two daughters while working various jobs, including Abex, Harrisons, and eventually retiring from Fisher-Price in 1994. Lewis had a passion for collecting and restoring Model A cars, as well as visiting flea markets and swap meets. He was a member of the Model A Club of Western New York and enjoyed going to steam engine shows. Most of all, Lewis enjoyed spending time with his daughters.
Lewis is survived by his two daughters, Lisa (Ted Hartway) Tombari of Medina, NY, and Michele Tombari of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; a granddaughter, Kelsie Carpenter; two siblings, Don (Sharon) Tombari of Lyndonville and Georgiana Tombari of Medina; and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins, and his favorite furry friend, Ukiah.
Besides his parents, Lewis is predeceased by a grandson, Cohen Elwin Albanese; and the mother of his children, Sharon Herriven.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be private for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lewis’s name to PAWS Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Rd., Albion, NY 14411.
