Levi J. “Joe” Sullinger

MEDINA – Levi J. “Joe” Sullinger, 85, of Medina, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the Medina Memorial Hospital with his loving family at his side.

Born on March 14, 1937 in Robinson, PA, he was the son of the late William and Pauline (Allen) Sullinger.

Joe moved to the Medina area and worked droving taxi with his brother in Albion. He also worked at White Bros. Greenhouse and lastly, retired from Bowmans Apples in Lyndonville. He was a member of the Lyndonville Presbyterian Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan, three children, Margaret Sullinger of Medina; Dennis (Judy) Sullinger of Queensbury, NY; Melinda Sullinger Clites of Plant City, FL; a special granddaughter, Vivian (Matt Boyce) Sullinger, whom acted as Joe’s caregiver and 10 other grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two siblings, William “Bill” (Janet) Sullinger of Newburgh, NY and Gloria Hurley of Medina, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Joe is predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Blaine, a daughter, Liza Sullinger, a grandson, Ryan Sullinger, and a great-granddaughter, Holly-Lynn.

There are no calling hours. A graveside committal will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville, NY.

Memorials may be held in Joe’s name to the Arthritis Foundation, 3300 Monroe Ave Suite 319, Rochester, NY 14618.
