Leonard Petix
LOCKPORT- Leonard Petix 59 passed away peacefully at Cleveland Clinic with his beloved partner Thomas Fusco by his side. Leonard was born on August 22, 1964.Surviving Leonard, in addition to his 40-year partner Thomas, are his father, Joseph Petix; his sister, Cindy (Petix) Mayer; brother-in-law, Michael Mayer; nephews, Matthew and Alexander; niece, Sofia; his aunt and uncle, Shirley and Walter Muench; and his uncle and aunt, Sebastian and Joy Petix. Leonard was predeceased by his loving mother, Patricia Petix. Leonard was born in Rochester, New York, and obtained his high school diploma from Brighton High School. He then pursued his undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In 1989, Leonard achieved his master’s degree in School Psychology from the Rochester Institute of Technology and dedicated the next thirty years to serving as a school psychologist for the Medina Central School District. Leonard was deeply passionate about his work, particularly the well-being of his students. He was cherished and respected by both staff and students, retiring in 2019. Leonard was an enthusiastic traveler, an excellent cook, a cherished friend to many, and a source of joy for his family. He was notably known for his infectious laughter, his sense of humor, his overall silliness, and his gift of making everyone feel special. He left a lasting impact on many lives and will be forever missed. Friends may call Friday, September 8 from 4-7PM at the funeral chapel (2305 Monroe Ave.). A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 9, 11:30AM at Our Lady of Lourdes, 150 Varinna Drive. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
