Leonard L. Balcerzak, 87, of Medina, entered into rest on Jan. 17, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital.

Born Oct. 12, 1932 in Medina, Leonard was a son of the late Anthony and Agnes (Cotriss) Balcerzak. He graduated from Medina High School, class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. Leonard was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Medina. He married the former Kathryn A. Howe on April 30, 1984. Early on, Leonard worked for Frank J. Balcerzak & Son Construction Co., and then for Waszak Plumbing. He was employed for many years at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in the maintenance department, from which he eventually retired.

He is survived by his son, Steven (Molly) Balcerzak of East Amherst; two grandsons, Sean and Jack Balcerzak; four siblings, Helen (late Thomas) Morien, Loretta (late Leo) Koneski, Francis (late Ann) Balcerzak and Michael (Carolyn) Balcerzak; sister-in-law, Patricia Balcerzak; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Kathryn A. “BoBo” Balcerzak, on Feb. 2, 2019; and six siblings, Donald (late Nedra), Anthony Jr., Joseph (late Dorothy), Mary (late William) Knights, Eleanor (late Robert) Rignall and Kate (late William) Gun.

Calling hours will be held on Sat., Jan. 25 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where his funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
