Lawrence Kochanowski

American flagLawrence Kochanowski, 55, of Medina, NY passed away peacefully after a short illness on Nov. 15 at ECMC in Buffalo, NY.

After graduating from Lake Wales High School in Florida he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Larry was a proud member of the 101st Airborne and was stationed in Germany. He married the love of his life, Kathryn on Oct. 31, 2003 and eventually moved from Orlando, Fla. to Medina, NY in 2008. He loved exploring WNY and all it had to offer especially fishing and checking out small local restaurants. He was a food lover! Larry was a member of the Jr, Wilson Sportsman Club and the Butts-Clark American Legion.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, LaVerne and Alex Kochanowski; and brothers: Alexander and Danny Kochanowski.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Slattery-Kochanowski; brothers and sisters: Don (Denise) Ott,  Art (Suetta) Clawson, Bob (Sharon) Kochanowski, Lori (Paul) Gleichsner, Chuck (Darlene) Kochanowski, Charmaine (Bob) Beatty, Jim (Linda) Kochanowski, Mary (Marty) Miller; several cousins, nieces and nephews and his son, AJ Kochanowski.

There will be no calling hours per Larry’s wishes and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lipson Cancer Center Batavia, NY where his wife continues her fight with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer.
