Laurene Alice “Sweet Lady” Canale

Laurene was a stay-at-home mother and really enjoyed doing that. She was known for her nice Christmas party every year and her cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Gerald Canale, Sr. on December 30, 2010, sisters, Aline Smith, Susanne Whittier, nephews, Scott Whittier and Stevie Ruef.
Laurene is survived by her children, Joseph (Linda Jo) Canale, Nancy (Robert) Brown, David Canale, Mary Kay (David) Vagg, Gerald Canale, Jr., 8 grandchildren, Justin (Sarah) Canale, Aimee (Darryl) Koch, Matthew (Brooke) Canale, Jacob (Stephanie) Canale, Robert (Jourdon Sutton) Brown, Jennifer (Ron) Leverenz, Elissa (John) Risolo, Bryan (Hanna Pescara) Vagg, 8 great-grandchildren, Braeden and Ethan Koch, Adele and Maelyn Canale, Madalyn and Mason Canale, Briella Brown, Robert Delgado-Brown, Johnny Risolo, Allison Leverenz, siblings, Frederick (Patricia) Ruef, Patricia (Late Richard) Mott, brother-in-law, Clayton “Greg” Fletcher, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There are no prior calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at Beechwood Cemetery, Kendall, NY. Memorial contributions in Laurene’s name may be made to Supportive Care of Orleans, 14080 Route 31 West, Albion, NY 14411 or Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church 106 S. Main St. Albion, NY 14411.
