Langford W. Dobbins

Langford-DobbinsLangford W. “Lank” Dobbins, 90, of Kendall, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 23, 2020 at Unity Hospital as a result of end stage renal disease. He was born Dec. 19, 1929 in Lockport, a son of the late Langford M. and Ina (Hall) Dobbins, and had resided in Kendall since 1938.

Lank was a member of Morton Baptist Church for 82 years and Social Lodge #713 F&AM for 69 years, where he was Past Master. He was a second generation fruit and vegetable farmer in Kendall for many years, and later went to work as an elevator technician at Kodak for 30 years. Lank loved gardening and yard work and was best known for his meticulous lawn, his fruits and vegetables, and his endless stories. Most of all, he loved giving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren rides on his beloved Kubota tractor. Lank was devoted to his family and his church.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Gertrude and Beatrice.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Audrey; children, Lisa (Dale) Rowley of Hamlin, Kathleen (Daniel) Tarshus of Penn Yan, Karen (Ray) Bowen of Rochester, Ann (Patrick) Polasek of LaGrangeville, N.Y., Kevin (Kimberly) Dobbins of Kathleen, Ga., and Cynthia (Steven) Smith of Newburgh, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His memorial service will be held at Morton Baptist Church at a day and time to be announced. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
