Kathleen C. Nadelen

HOLLEY – Kathleen C. Nadelen, born July 8, 1942, passed away unexpectedly (not Covid-related) on May 11, 2022, with her children at her side.

Kathy was born in Rochester, New York to Michael A. Scarpulla and Constance M. (Tomasino) Scarpulla.

Kathy is survived by two children: Julie (Nate Johnson) and Ted (KrisAnne) Nadelen Ill and her companion of 16 years, John (Jack) Wood; grandchildren, Megan Pearl, Nick Acquilano, Olivia Nadelen and Teddy Nadelen IV; great-grandchildren, Landin, Corbin, Rhettlyn and Gemma.

Kathy was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Ted Nadelen Jr; daughter, Jill Nadelen; sister, Jean Scarpulla; and brother, Charles Scarpulla.

Kathy attended the Rochester Business Institute where she became certified in secretarial services and was then employed by Eastman Kodak Company. There she met her husband, Theodore R. Nadelen Jr. in 1962, and were married on October 12, 1963. Kathy later worked for nearly 20 years as a secretary for the First Presbyterian Church in Holley. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Albion for 30 years and served as an elder. Kathy lived a life of serving others. She had an unspoken compassion and touched many lives. Kathy was a friend to all, with a heart larger than life. She was the hub of our family, and a true inspiration to all of us. She always found the silver lining in the cloud. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, friend and mentor. She was a living example to us all and her legacy will endure forever.

Kathy loved music and the arts, crocheting, crafts, cooking, gardening, reading and camping. She especially loved spending time with her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.

There will be no prior calling hours. Kathy’s funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Albion, 29 E. State Albion, on Thursday, June 9, at 11 a.m. Please follow Covid guidelines. If feeling sick or recently had a known exposure, please do not attend. Masks are optional per individual preference. Private interment will be in Western New York National Cemetery.
