Karen O'BrienKaren M. O’Brien, 65, of Medina, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born on Nov. 5, 1953 in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of the late John Rosenbeck and Marguerite Moore.

Karen graduated from Medina High School in 1971 and was employed with Delphi of Rochester for 30 years, retiring in 2002. On Aug. 17, 2004, she married Patrick O’Brien, and together they owned and operated Main Liquor Store in Medina. Karen was a member of Junior Wilson Sportsmen’s Club of Medina, Medina Business Association, and the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce. Karen was a kind and loving person who loved and cared for animals, taking in many strays over the years. Karen always enjoyed visiting with her customers and was loved by many.

Karen is survived by her husband, Patrick O’Brien; children, Chris (Carissa) Egan of Norman, Okla., Dan (Sue) Egan of Forestville, N.Y., Ryan (Jessica) Egan of Rochester, N.Y., Shawn (Noel) O’Brien of Lockport, and Philip (Donna) O’Brien of Rochester; grandchildren, Nathan, Ben, Jackson, Cece, Riley, Ella, Dylan, Angelina, Grayson and Cody; three siblings, Dianne (Clare) Humphrey of Medina, James (Jackie Boon) Moore of Batavia, and Gary (Nancy) Moore of Albion; nieces and nephew, Annie, Nicci and Gary; two great-nieces, BreAnna and Bianca; stepfather, Walter Schutt of  Chandler, Ariz.; her beloved faithful companion, Penny Lane; and many of her precious cats.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
